Objectives
  1. Understand the basic structure and function of the skeletal muscle system
  2. Identify the impact of aging on the structure and function of the skeletal muscle system
  3. Understand the reasons of the recent changes of the definition of sarcopenia
  4. Be aware of the differences in diagnostic criteria between the European and Asian definitions
  5. Grasp the epidemiology of sarcopenia in the community and different care settings
  6. Understand the unnumerable and severe consequences of sarcopenia in old age adults
  7. Recognize the importance of protein metabolism in muscle health
  8. Understand the positive impact of physical activities on muscle health
  9. Identify the multiple recommendations to prevent and manage sarcopenia
